4 days4-Day Northern Morocco: Fes, Chefchaouen & Tangier
Two unhurried nights in Chefchaouen, a hike to Akchour’s waterfalls, Tetouan’s medina and Tangier’s Atlantic headlands.

Tangier looks across the Strait of Gibraltar to Spain. Its Kasbah, cafés and literary history give it a character all of its own, and it is a natural entry point to northern Morocco.
For centuries a crossroads of trade and cultures, Tangier had a special international status in the 20th century and attracted writers, artists and musicians. Today a revitalised seafront and marina sit alongside the old medina.
Al Boraq high-speed trains link Tangier to Rabat and Casablanca, making it an efficient start to a Morocco itinerary.
Spring to autumn. Summer is pleasant on the coast but busy; winter is mild but often windy and wet.
Day trip or overnight? From Tangier, Chefchaouen is best with an overnight. Fes, Marrakech and especially the Sahara require multi-day travel; Merzouga is roughly two days away by road.
