3 days3-Day Marrakech to Merzouga Sahara Tour
Cross the High Atlas, ride a camel into Erg Chebbi for a night under the stars and finish in Fes — the classic Sahara route in three days.

Marrakech is energy and colour: snake charmers and storytellers on Jemaa el-Fna, quiet riad courtyards and the snow-capped High Atlas on the horizon. It is also where many of our southern routes begin.
Founded in the 11th century by the Almoravids, Marrakech gave its name to the country in many languages. Its medina, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985, is a maze of souks, mosques, madrasas and palaces inside long ochre ramparts.
Beyond the old city, Gueliz and the Hivernage district offer cafés and galleries, while gardens such as Majorelle and Menara give a breath of calm. Within one to three hours you can be in Atlas valleys, at waterfalls or heading for the coast.
For the Sahara, Marrakech is a gateway rather than a day trip: the dunes of Merzouga are around 9–10 hours away by road, so we always split the journey over at least two days.
Spring (March–May) and autumn (late September–November) are the most comfortable seasons. Summer days are very hot, while winter brings mild, sunny days and cold nights, with snow often visible on the High Atlas.
Day trip or overnight? Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi dunes cannot be visited as a day trip from Marrakech — allow at least 3 days (2 nights). Zagora needs an overnight (2 days minimum). Ait Ben Haddou, Ourika, Imlil, Ouzoud and Essaouira work as day trips; Toubkal summit needs at least one night in the mountains.

Day tripA cool, green escape about an hour from Marrakech: Amazigh villages, riverside lunch and a walk to the Setti Fatma waterfalls.
Day tripA day on the Atlantic: Essaouira’s ramparts, fishing port and relaxed medina, about 3 hours each way from Marrakech.
