Day tripDay Trip from Marrakech to the Ouzoud Waterfalls
Morocco’s tallest waterfalls, around 2.5–3 hours from Marrakech, with a walk to the pools, olive groves and Barbary macaques.

The Ourika Valley is the closest taste of the High Atlas from Marrakech. In a relaxed day you visit a traditional Amazigh house, see argan oil being made, and follow the river to Setti Fatma for a guided walk to its waterfalls.

Best for: Anyone wanting a short, gentle taste of the mountains, including families and those with limited time.
Driving times are approximate and exclude long stops; they vary with weather, roads and traffic.
We collect you around 9 am and drive south across the plain, with the snow-capped Atlas ahead in winter and spring. After about an hour you enter the Ourika Valley, where we stop at a women’s argan cooperative and, where a family welcomes visitors, a traditional Amazigh house built of earth and stone for mint tea. Continue up the valley past riverside cafés to Setti Fatma. With a local guide, walk up to the first of the waterfalls – about an hour return on rocky paths with some scrambling – or simply relax by the river. Lunch at a riverside restaurant is followed by the return drive, arriving in Marrakech by around 5 pm.

The waterfall path is rocky and slippery in places, with some steep scrambling to the higher falls; good shoes are essential and it is not suitable for people with limited mobility, who can enjoy the riverside instead. The valley can flood after heavy rain and storms – your driver may change plans for safety. Altitude is moderate (Setti Fatma ≈ 1,500 m).
