Short (≤ 2 h)Sunrise Camel Trek in Erg Chebbi
An early-morning camel ride into the dunes to watch first light spill across Erg Chebbi.

Dawn is often the calmest time in the dunes: overnight winds smooth the sand, the air is clear and the first light paints the ridges pink and gold. This session gets you into position before the sun rises.
We meet in the dark, about an hour before sunrise, and walk (or ride, on request) to a ridge facing east. Your guide picks a spot with fresh sand ripples and few footprints, often away from the main viewpoints used by camps.
As the sky brightens you can photograph the gradient of blue to orange, then the moment the sun clears the horizon and side-lights the ripples. Morning light stays good for a short while, so there’s time for details — tracks of beetles and foxes, textures and ridgelines.
If you’re staying at a desert camp, the session can start directly from camp. Specialist photography tutoring can be arranged on request.
Timings shift with the season (sunrise and sunset change by more than two hours across the year).
We confirm these details in your written quote:
Mornings can be cold, especially from November to February — bring warm layers. Use a head torch for the walk in the dark and wear closed shoes.

Both are beautiful. Sunrise is usually calmer, with fresher ripples and fewer people; sunset offers warmer tones and is easier to fit into a travel day.
Yes. Many camps are inside the dunes, so the session can start right there.
