Half dayPhotography Camel Tour in Erg Chebbi
Time the light, frame the caravan, and shoot the dunes at their best.

Light in the Sahara changes everything — the same dune can look flat at noon and sculpted at dusk. This proposed route builds your days around golden hours, blue hours and night skies across several locations near Merzouga. This is a proposed signature concept — every element is subject to confirmation by our team when you enquire, depending on season, weather and local availability.
Proposed experience. This is an original concept we are developing. It is not yet a fixed product — ask us whether it can be arranged for your dates and group, and we will confirm exactly what is possible.
Who it’s for: Keen amateur and professional photographers, and travellers who want to plan their time around light rather than a fixed schedule.
Over one or, ideally, two days, we would combine dune landscapes with human stories. Sunrise and sunset are spent on the sand of Erg Chebbi, where ridgelines, shadows and camel caravans give strong compositions. Midday, when the light is harsh, is used for travel, rest and interiors.
Khamlia, about 15 minutes from Merzouga, offers colourful walls and village life; the old ksar of Rissani, around 45 minutes away, has shaded passageways, earthen architecture and the market atmosphere on market days. Photographing people is only done with their clear consent, and we will help you ask respectfully.
On a two-day plan, a night at a desert camp opens the option of star and Milky Way photography, depending on moon phase, season and weather. A 4x4 can also reach viewpoints at the edge of the erg that are hard to get to on foot (designated tracks only).
The route is flexible. Tell us your interests — landscapes, portraits, astro, architecture — and our team will propose a timeline for your dates.
Timings shift with the season (sunrise and sunset change by more than two hours across the year).
Facilities differ between camps and seasons; we confirm them for your exact dates.
We confirm these details in your written quote:
Expect early starts, late finishes and walking on soft sand with gear — pack light and stay hydrated. 4x4 driving stays on designated tracks. Protect equipment from sand and heat. Drones are subject to Moroccan regulations and are commonly restricted; do not bring one without checking current rules. Camel rides are not advised for people with back problems or during pregnancy. Night photography depends on the moon phase and weather.
Contact us for a price. Every trip is priced for your dates, group size, tour type and accommodation level. Send us your plan on WhatsApp or by email and we will send you the price. [TO CONFIRM: payment method (e.g. bank transfer), deposit amount and balance deadline]. A booking is confirmed only after we confirm availability and payment arrangements in writing. We never ask for card details on this website.
It is a proposed concept rather than a fixed departure. Tell us your dates and group, and our team will confirm what can be arranged, adapt the plan if needed and send you a written proposal with the price on request.
The guide knows the landscapes and viewpoints well. If you need photographic tuition, ask when enquiring and our team will confirm what can be arranged.
Drones are regulated in Morocco and often held at customs without authorisation. Please check current rules before travelling; we cannot guarantee drone use.
